ABOUT
Pink sapphire is associated with love, compassion, and emotional strength. With a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale, it is highly durable and ideal for everyday wear. It comes in a range of shades from soft blush pink to vibrant hot pink, making it a versatile and feminine gemstone that adds a touch of elegance to any jewellery piece.
COMPOSITION
Pink sapphire is a variety of corundum, composed mainly of aluminum oxide (AlβOβ). Its delicate pink color comes from trace amounts of chromium within the crystal structure. The higher the chromium content the more intense the color; although too much coloration can turn it to red in which turns it to Ruby.
SOURCE
Pink sapphires are found in several parts of the world, with major sources including Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Myanmar, and Tanzania. Sri Lankan stones are especially known for their soft pastel pink tones and high clarity.
FAME
Pink sapphire is admired for its delicate and elegant shades, ranging from soft pastel pink to vibrant deep rose tones. Its beautiful color is created by trace elements within the gemstone, making every pink sapphire unique and captivating.
