COMPOSITION

Amethyst is a variety of quartz, composed mainly of silicon dioxide (SiOβ‚‚). Its signature purple color comes from trace amounts of iron along with natural radiation during its formation. The shade can vary from soft lilac to deep violet, depending on the conditions in which it forms.

Amethyst is found in various regions across the world, with major sources including Brazil, Uruguay, Zambia, and Russia. Brazilian amethyst is known for its large crystal formations, while Zambian stones are valued for their deeper and more intense purple tones.
